'Princess Diaries 3' Release Date, News & Update: Anne Hathaway, Gary Marshall to Reunite

Gary Marshall confirmed the making of "Princess Diaries 3" along with the return of Anne Hathaway as Mia Thermopolis. However, fans still have to wait until the heavily pregnant Anne Hathaway gives birth. Disney also hasn't revealed when filming for "Princess Diaries 3" will start.

Gary Marshall said that he was recently with Anne Hathaway and they were eyeing to do "Princess Diaries 3" in Manhattan. "Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we're going to do it," Gary Marshall told People.

Meg Cabot is also set to return in 2015 with "Royal Wedding," the writer's latest work for the "Princess Diaries" novel series. "Royal Wedding" will tell the story of Mia Thermopolis' nuptial, and if the "Princess Diaries" will be based on this book, Chris Pine, too, has to be back.

To recall, Chris Pine co-starred with Anne Hathaway in 2004's "Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement" and fortunately, he's open to reprising his role. According to Movie Web, Chris Pine might return in "Princess Diaries 3" as Gary Marshall admits that he likes him so much.

"You know why? Because his father is in 'Mother's Day'!" Gary Marshall said about Chris Pine's dad. "Mother's Day" is Gary Marshall's upcoming movie with star-studded cast members like Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson.

Meanwhile, Gary Marshall and Anne Hathaway worked together for the first "The Princess Diaries" in 2001 followed by "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement" in 2004. The return of Gary Marshall and Anne Hathaway in "Princess Diaries 3" will break the four-year gap of creating another Mia Thermopolis movie. Also, between 2000 and 2009, Meg Cabot already published a number of "Princess Diaries" novel.

On a different note, Anne Hathaway is about to have her own little princess. In Anne Hathaway’s recent bridal shower, it is revealed that she’s carrying a baby girl, Daily Mail noted.
