iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus News & Update: Leaked Pictures Confirm iPhone 7 Plus Will Feature Dual-Lens Camera

Pictures of iPhone 7 Plus seem to confirm that Apple's upcoming mobile device will feature a dual-lens camera.

According to Independent, Apple is expected to keep the dual-lens camera feature restricted to the bigger version of the iPhone 7, the iPhone 7 Plus. There are also speculations suggesting that Apple might add this feature to a Pro version of the mobile device.

The new leaked pictures that claim to show the next-generation iPhone 7 Plus appear to confirm the dual-lens camera feature. These images have appeared at first on Chinese forums. They were certainly not yet confirmed by the high-tech giant Apple, but in case that they are accurate, then they confirm a long-rumored headline feature of the iPhone 7 Pro or iPhone 7 Plus.

According to Phone Arena, the images show a dual camera module made for the iPhone 7 Plus. It is clear that the case in the pictures is made for an iPhone with a dual camera setup in the rear, since the rear camera cut-out is pretty large.

It is still unsure if Apple will design all version of the iPhone 7 Plus with a dual camera on the back or this feature will be reserved for a special variant of the device called iPhone 7 Pro. The special version iPhone 7 Pro will be a further upgraded version of the iPhone 7 plus, according to various reports.

A much longer camera slot that makes way for a dual lens camera means that Apple plans to improve the cameras in the next-generation iPhones. Dual-lens camera might even allow advanced features, including the possibility to take 3D photographs.

The rest of the design of the Apple iPhone showed in the leaked pictures fits with previous reports. The handset looks similar to the iPhone 6, except for the absence of antenna lines that flow around the back of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s and with a slightly rounder edge.

The case of the upcoming iPhone also appears to leave some space for a Smart Connector, as a way of connecting accessories like keyboards. The Smart Connector seems to have taken some of the space vacated by the headphone jack.
