'Frozen 2' Release Date, Cast, News & Update: Film Confirmed; Kristen Bell Explains Why The Film Takes So Long

There is no doubt that the success of "Frozen" is not a fluke. Hence, many fans want a sequel. However, after over two years, "Frozen 2" remains in the work and there are speculations that it may not be pursued anymore.

Parent Herald previously reported that "Frozen 2" would be cancelled. There are rumors that the "Frozen" sequel is put at the backseat to give way to the Broadway version. New reports also claim that there will be a TV special for "Frozen," which adds fuel to the speculations that there will be no more "Frozen 2."

However, despite the reports claiming that "Frozen 2" will no longer hit the big screens, there are also reports clinging to the realization of the second "Frozen" film. One of the "Frozen" voice actors explains the delay of "Frozen 2."

Kristen Bell told Collider that she has not started voicing Anna for "Frozen 2" yet. She revealed that Disney has written "Frozen 2" but are still making tweaks to improve the plot. However, she feels positive that they will be recording this month.

"The story is great, and they exude quality. What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn't just put something out to put it out," Bell revealed. "That's why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one. Generally, when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it."

Per the report, music was critical to the success of "Frozen" and at the time, Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez is working hard for the next set of songs for "Frozen 2" following their hit song "Let It Go" in the first film. Bell's statement just confirmed that "Frozen 2" is on the way and it's enough to explain about the delay.

CinemaBlend added that Disney is busy with their other animated films including "Big Hero 6" and "Zootopia," so they do not rely on sequels to generate enthusiasm among their audience. Also, it may take long for "Frozen 2" to hit the big screens.
