What Your Toddler Really Means: 10 Translations of What Your Toddler is Saying

As your baby gets older, it either gets easier or gets harder understanding your kids' language. So to help you out, we've collected some tips on how you can understand your toddler better.

Although your toddler may seem like he or she is speaking gibberish, there are actually ways to figure out what they are trying to say. Check out these translations from Abbie Dando of Metro and from More Fun Mom on what your toddlers could actually be saying:

1. 'Euh euh euh'

According to Metro, it normally means you toddler may want you to do something. This is often accompanied with a finger pointing towards the direction where they want you to go.

2. 'More mal'

This one could mean 'more milk' according to Metro especially for toddlers who still love their milk. It may indicate that they are still hungry.

3. 'Nana'

This could range from banana to nanny or granny says Metro. More Fun Mom also supports this translation. There are instances that one could be taken for the other and try to be careful what your kid really asks for.

 4. 'Eeese!'

This could be a short cut for 'Please.' Try to teach your kids how to be polite as early as possible.

5. 'Nan-noo'

According to Metro, this could mean 'Thank you'. Which is pretty cute, considering that a toddler is already practicing good manners at such a young age.

6. 'Oof oof oof'

Toddlers have brains like sponges and most often mimic the sounds they hear. So this could only mean a dog. Or it may be because parents produce the animal sound when they introduce them to their kids.

7. Sippy

According to More Fun Mom, this is not a sippy cup and never will be. This could only mean the special blanket your kid loves to use during bed time. It also sounds like 'sleepy' so it may follow that your toddler may actually feeling be sleepy and needs that blanket.

8. Mama

As most would agree, this could be translated to any one of hundreds of things, including: I'm tired, I'm bored, I need something, or a barrage of complaints that's too hard to determine.

9. Now
The same as the with the 'woof woof', this could be the sound of the cat. Your toddler may be saying 'meow' but comes out as now.

10. Poopt

Yes, it's poop according to More Fun Mom. Your kid may actually be telling you the truth or may often times fool you.
