'Chicago PD' Season 3 Spoilers, News & Update: Halstead-Lindsay Episode Delayed Says Sophia Bush

Many fans of the "Chicago P.D." TV series are hoping for a big spotlight on Halstead and Lindsay during the upcoming episodes. However, they might get disappointed to hear that apparently, the Halstead-Lindsay episode will be delayed.

Despite the enthusiasm of "Chicago P.D." fans, they will have to still wait for the show's planned Halstead-Lindsay road-trip hour. According to TVLine this was originally planned to happen in "Chicago P.D." Episode 15. The installment was set to show the couple on a road trip to Green Bay.

The outing was supposed to shed light on Jay Halstead and Erin Lindsay's backstories in addition to featuring some one-on-one time between the two detectives. However, things are apparently changing course and the episode will be delayed.

At PaleyFest Saturday for a panel commemorating Dick Wolf's achievements, series star Sophia Bush declared that the planned installment about Lindsay and Halstead is going to have to wait for a while. According to Sophia Bush, the episode will not be shown this season even if the executive producers Michael Brandt and Derek Hass were initially very excited about it.

The show is often dealing with sensitive material, especially at the end of the third season. In these circumstances, it didn't feel appropriate to have the episode happen on the heels of the big story with Yates.

Actress Sophia Bush also added that she "would have loved" to play in the atypical installment. However, while the couple Halstead-Lindsay continues to maintain a professional attitude in the workplace, their fans can still expect some intimate moments.

Sophia Bush explained that the producers try to find ways to remind the audience about the two detective characters' more intimate connection. In the same time, they are making sure that their relationship is not overshadowing the story.

According to Carter Matt, the Halstead-Lindsay road-trip episode didn't fit well now, but there will be future opportunities to have that story.
