Chris Martin Divorce Update: Coldplay Frontman Reveals Struggle With Depression After Split With Gwyneth Paltrow

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow's divorce made the headlines as one of Hollywood's A-List couples called it quits. After months of dealing with his divorce, Chris Martin opened up during an interview stating that he struggled with depression.

According to the Telegraph, Chris Martin shared how he was affected during his divorce with Gwyneth Paltrow. Despite going though depression, however, Chris Martin stated that his split with Gwyneth Paltrow was a little "weird." The couple referred to their break-up as "conscious uncoupling" wherein they both came into a mutual agreement to end their union.

"It's always out there in the media, but I have a very wonderful separation-divorce," Christ Martin said during his interview with Sunday Times. "It's a divorce but it's a weird one...I've lived a lot of life since then. You can come at it very aggressively and blame and blame or you can put yourself in the garage, so to speak. Take yourself apart and clean off the bits. Reassemble."

Though Chris Martin went through depression for a year, the Coldplay frontman did admit that his struggles turned him into a stronger version of himself. As his depression creeped, Chris Martin stated that a poem written by Rumi, a Persian poet, helped him move forward.

"That one Rumi poem changes everything. It says that even when you're unhappy, it's good for you," Chris Martin said in an interview while talking about Rumi's poem entitled "The Guest House."

Despite the fact that Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow are no longer together, they did, however, remain close friends. They would still go on family outings together and spend ample of time with the kids. Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow were married for 10 years and share two children together, their daughter Apple who is now 11 and their son Moses, 9.
