America is quite lagging on the issue of giving paid maternity leaves, which is why pregnant women are doing everything to pay for this on their own. Thanks to technology, mothers who are expecting a baby soon can now ask for assistance from people through the help of crowd funding sites.

Anything is possible now with the Internet and yes, even covering for your own maternity leave in case you are really hard up on that department. According to The Huffington Post, one of the best ways to come up with funds in order to pay for maternity leave is using crowd funding. This means asking help from anyone on the Internet by posting your story and encouraging people to help you raise the funds that you are trying to meet.

In an article published by BuzzFeed, they said that sites like GoFundMe and YouCaring are often the ones being used by couples and mothers in order to raise money for their maternity leave. This would work especially for mothers who don't have access to paid maternity leaves, as this could cover for the time that they are not available to work and also the time that they need to tend to their newborn baby while having to still take care of their bills.

Crowd funding is very handy, especially now that there are only 12% of employees who are working for private sectors that have an access to paid maternity leaves in the United States. Hopefully, this would change soon, but as of the moment, this is the case and crowd funding is definitely a good move for those who want to make ends meet.

About 1,300 results can be seen for the keywords "maternity leave" on GoFundMe, while 800 results can be found when one searches for "family leave." This shows the amount of people creating campaigns for their personal needs and so far, it is looking like it is an effective move.
