'Minecraft' News & Update: Story Mode Will Add Three More Episodes

Game developer Telltale Games announced that "Minecraft: Story Mode" is getting three more episodes later this year.

Fans are thrilled to hear that episode 5 scheduled to be launched on March 29 won't be the last chapter of the "Minecraft" game series. It appears now that the episode 5 will be instead the bridge with the rest of the story to come.

According to Polygon, those gamers who wait to purchase later this year episodes 6, 7 and 8 are required to have purchased at least the first episode of "Minecraft: Story Mode". The episode is called "The Order of the Stone" and debuted back in October 2015.

Depending on the player's gender choice, voice actors Catherine Taber and Patton Oswalt star in "Minecraft: Story Mode" as Jesse. Sean Astin of "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "The Goonies" stars as Reginald. Paul Reubens of "Pee-wee Herman" borrows his voice to the bad guy Ivor.

Melissa Hutchison features in "Minecraft: Story Mode" episode 5 as a new character. She is already known for voicing Clementine in Telltale's "The Walking Dead" adaptation.

The fifth installment of "Minecraft" game series is titled "Order Up!." The episode sends the player protagonist Jesse and the group to an abandoned temple.

After being ambushed by former Ocelot Aiden and his crew, they enter in an entirely new world called Sky City. The ruler finds out that the New Order of the Stone are up to no good. This is setting up the showdown and conflict of this story.

According to Telltale Games blog, the upcoming three episodes will continue the Adventures of the New Order of the Stone, following the additional escapades of Jesse and the group in new and unfamiliar worlds beyond their own.

The "Minecraft: Story Mode" game is available on Mac and Windows PC, Android and iOS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wii U.
