'Dancing With The Stars' Season 22 Premiere Recap: Learn How The Contestants Heat The Ballroom

If you love dancing, groove to the latest dance music with the return of "Dancing with the Stars" for its 22nd season. Twelve teams will be competing this season, but only one pair will stand until the end to win the title.

Here are some of the highlights of the "Dancing with the Stars" Season 22 premiere episode.

Among the new contestants to hit the dance floor is "America's Next Top Model" winner Nyle DiMarco. Per ABC, DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd did a Cha Cha in the tune of "Cake by the Ocean" by DNCE. DiMarco is deaf and he can't hear any beat at all or feel vibrations, but the model nailed his first dance performance.

For those wondering how DiMarco impressed everyone in his first "Dance with the Stars" performance, here's how he did it. "It's actually Peta," DiMarco signed, referring to his partner, Murgatroyd. "I follow her with my eyes," he explained, CNN reported.

Meanwhile, Ginger Zee and Valentin Chmerkovskiy jived with the tune of "Move" from the musical "Dreamgirls." Zee's dancing skills were impressive and superb that the ABC meteorologist's future in the dance floor is as sunny as her career in forecasting. In fact, judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli compared her infectious performance with last season's "Dancing with the Stars'" champ Bindi Irwin, ABC notes.

Another pair made the "Dancing with the Stars" premiere episode a bang. Wanya Morris and Lindsay Arnold also did a Cha Cha to "Motownphilly" by Boyz II Men. The performance was lively and entertaining and the Boyz II Men singer seems to have an innate talent for dancing as well. "You are a total twinkle toes on the dance floor," Inaba said.

These three pairs tied for first place. Each of them scored 23 points out of 30 points.

There is no elimination in the first week of "Dancing with the Stars," so all pairs will return for Latin Night in week 2.
