'Titanfall' PC Release Date, News & Update: Game Free for Origin Access Members

Origin Access members will now enjoy playing “Titanfall” on their PC for free!

“Titanfall,” a popular first-person shooter game developed and released by Respawn Entertainment, has been added to the list of games available in The Vault of free games at Electronic Arts' Origin Access program, reports GameSpot. This means that to date, the number of games that Origin Access members can play for free is 17.

“Titanfall” joins other games in the list, which include “Dragon Age: Inquisition,” multiple “Battlefield” titles and all of the main “Dead Space” games. Prior to “Titanfall,” the latest non-EA title is “Torchlight II.”

Along with access to “Titanfall's” deluxe version, Origin Access members can also check out “Titanfall's” expansions, notes Polygon. Being subscribed to Origin Access entitles members to the game's full season pass and three expansion packs.

Launched in 2014, “Titanfall” was warmly received by the gaming public. Since its release, it has seen three expansions, one port from being an Xbox-exclusive to having a PC version, and numerous awards both locally and internationally. It also dominated the E3 2013 Games Critics Awards.

For those that do not know, “Titanfall” puts players in the role of either a Pilot or it's Titan companion, a 24-foot tall monstrous armored machine that can be either commanded to decimate enemies or driven to personally rain shells on the target while being protected inside its thick armor. The game features fast-paced multiplayer shooting action that will surely excite fans of the futuristic FPS genre.

“Titanfall 2,” which will reportedly have a single player campaign, is rumored to be released as a multiplatform game. Although it is rumored to be released sometime later this year, it is officially scheduled to release sometime between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017.

Origin Access subscriptions cost $5 a month, and gives members access to other free games, a five-day early access to EA's upcoming games and a 10-percent discount on all Origin content. Those wanting to sign-up to Origin Access can do so by clicking here.
