Are You Pregnant? 4 Subtle Signs of Early Pregnancy

Some pregnancies may be showy, as some tend to have little to no signs that they are pregnant. If one is expecting to get pregnant, it is important to take note of the subtle signs that the body is showing as it may confirm your pregnancy.

Each woman goes through different pregnancy experiences. Though some may have a smoother first trimester, there are though that would go through turmoil.

Those with subtle early pregnancy signs would usually go through a series of doubts as to whether they are pregnant or not, and would need to go to the doctors' office to have it confirmed. Before doing so, however, it is important to listen to your body, as there are subtle signs confirming that there's indeed a bun in the oven.

Heightened Senses

According to Fit Pregnancy, once of the most common symptoms that point out that a woman is indeed pregnant is the heightening of her senses. The senses are usually heightened once the baby's hormones would start to make changes in the body's sensory input.

Unusual Food Preference

Some pregnant women would go through unusual food cravings. There are those who would crave for food, which they never liked, while others would throw up upon eating their favorite food. According to Parenting, food preference differs, but it would usually surface during the first two weeks of pregnancy.

Mood Swings

No you are not bipolar. But intense mood swings would usually take place during the early stages of pregnancy. One might cry herself to sleep for the most unreasonable causes, and would be outraged with the slightest details.

"As levels of HCG hormones increase," Melissa Goist, MD began explaining to Parents. "You're feeling massive amounts of fatigue, which makes you more prone to moodiness."

Fast Nail Growth

Fit Pregnancy also cited that one of the signs of early pregnancy is rapid nail growth. It was mentioned that the body's hormones speeds up the pace of the nail growth. According to Irina Burd, an OB and maternal-fetal medicine specialist, rapid nail growth can be observed even before pregnancy tests could actually detect pregnancy.
