'Gilmore Girls' Revival News & Update: Tristan Set To Return, But Chad Michael Murray Won't Reprise Role? [Rumors]

Nearly every character on "Gilmore Girls" is returning for the series revival, but there's one that has yet to be confirmed. Tristan Dugray is speculated to be part of the revival, but it doesn't seem like the actor who originally played him - Chad Michael Murray - is reprising the role.

Bustle reports that the character's name has been listed on IMDb as part of the "Gilmore Girls: Seasons" production for Netflix. However, instead of Chad Michael Murray playing the role, the name Anton Narinskiy is listed next to the character's name.

Narinsky was part of "Days of our Lives" and has had various TV guest stints in shows like "Grey's Anatomy" and "Jane the Virgin." He also looks a lot similar to Murray, especially with the hairstyle.

In the series, Tristan was Rory Gilmore's schoolmate at the Chilton private school and he flirted with her through Season 1 and 2. He was Paris' crush and his closeness with Rory made Paris all the more resentful of her. However, as Cosmopolitan pointed out, Tristan was cut from the show after the second season and was sent to military school by his parents. Any potential romance with him and Rory never panned out.

It's rather curious why Tristan is listed as part of "Gilmore Girls: Seasons" under a different actor. However, it might be because Chad Michael Murray is tied up with other projects. When the actor left the series, he eventually became a big TV star and starred in his own TV show, "One Tree Hill." Murray is currently committed to "Agent Carter" and he's also set to do the TV mini-series "Million Dollar Quartet." The latter is will begin filming in Memphis this April, per On Location Vacations.
