Fans across the globe are already smitten with the "Song-Song" couple, especially after "DOTS" aired Episode 12, which showed doctor Kang Mo-Yeon compromise with and finally accept Yoo Si-Jin's profession as a soldier and captain of Team Alpha from the Special Forces.

While Joong-Ki has definitely proven that he is more than just a pretty face with his acting talent, director Lee Eung-Bok shared with China's Xinhua News Agency that the actor was not their first choice for the role, reports Yonhap News Agency.

"When we had chosen the lead male role at an initial stage, Song Joong-Ki was not an ideal choice," the director recounted. "As we tried to change the original image, however, he became more appealing. He had just been discharged from his compulsory military service, he was handsome and he loved the script."

Meanwhile, Song Joong-Ki was recently interviewed on KBS News 9 and the "DOTS" actor addressed rumors that he and his co-star, Song Hye-Kyo were dating in real life, KpopStarz reports.

"Hye-Kyo and I are both aware of those rumors, and we are really enjoying them. We even talk about them during company dinners," Song Joong-Ki stated.

The "Descendants of the Sun" actor also shared that the rumors may have started "because of the overwhelming positive response that the drama has gotten."

"Descendants of the Sun" is down to its last four episodes with a three-part special airing after the finale.
