'Final Fantasy XV' News & Update: Here Are The Surprising Details Revealed At 'Uncovered' Event

Quenching the thirst for "Final Fantasy XV" details that fans all over the world have was Square Enix's "Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV" event held just last night. More than just a confirmed release date, game director Hajime Tabata and the whole team revealed a lot of details that surprised many fans.

To start off, the rumored release date for the game was confirmed to be true. It was earlier reported that "FFXV" will be coming out on Sept. 30, 2016. That proves true, but while many might think it's only a Japan-only release date, it's actually a worldwide release -- all territories at the same time.

But more than just a game, GameZone reports that a movie and an anime series will come out before the game does. Square Enix and Sony Entertainment have teamed up to produce a CG movie based on the game, which will be titled "Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV."

The said film will be released before the "Final Fantasy XV" game does. The companies didn't skimp on it, apparently, casting actors such as Sean Bean ("Lord of The Rings"), Lena Headey ("300") and Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad"). The story will be told from the King's perspective after prince Noctis leaves.

A new five-part anime series, "Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV" will also be released before the game is launched. It will consist of five standalone episodes that will feature prince Noctis' relationship with his three friends, and will most likely set up the stage for the game itself. The first episode is out now while the other four will release before the game is out.

Aside from the two watch-only pre-game releases, a new playable demo is released now. Titled "Platinum Demo," those who will play the game will take on the role of a young Noctis, with a storyline that is not included in the main game. Those who finish the demo on the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One will unlock the Carbuncle Summon DLC when the game launches.

There are also several editions available for the game, reports Ars Technica. Those who've already preordered the game for $59.99 will receive the "Day One Edition" which includes the "Masamune" sword downloadable for use in-game. A "Deluxe Edition"is also available for $89.99, and includes steelbook packaging, as well as bonus outfit, weapon and skin for Noctis'car.

Lastly, the "Ultimate Collector's Edition" reportedly costs $269.99 and comes with a hardcover art book, a soundtrack, an exclusive Play Arts Kai Noctis figure, four in-game item packs and the bonus content included in the deluxe edition.
