'Halo 5: Guardians' Ghosts of Meridian April 2016 Update Includes 2 New Maps; Gameplay Tips Here

343 Industries recently provided some details on the newest update of “Halo 5: Guardians – Ghosts of Meridian,” which will arrive in April 2016. The update will showcase a variety of items and skins as well as two new battlegrounds.

The “Halo 5” game developer wrote in a blog post that a new Warzone map will arrive on “Halo 5" called “Skirmish at Darkstar.” The new environment is set to stand apart from existing Warzone maps. 343 Industries stated that there will be several unique cover pieces, flank routes and sightlines that encourage gamers to explore and go through the entire map. “Halo 5” players may also appreciate how they need to strategize to avoid getting caught by patrolling vehicles and precisely time their attacks on enemies.

"If you've been anxiously awaiting a new place to bust out your finest Reqs and lay down destruction, this is it,” wrote 343 Industries.

Josh Kao, 343 Industries' senior concept artist, shared more details about Skirmish at Darkstar of “Halo 5.” The setting will be on Meridian, a mining planet. Players will discover an old ship at the center of the map. Considering that it is a mining planet, the area will generally be polluted with the sun shining through the dust.

Game Spot notes that the second map in “Halo 5: Guardians – Ghosts of Meridian” is called “Tyrant.” The map is relatively small and built for Assault and Capture the Flag games. The Scattershot will be the ideal place for close-range battles while the weapon pad will be strategic for snipers from both sides.

Quinn DelHoyo, “Halo 5” multiplayer designer at 343 industries, shared that the sniper rifle is generally important to win on Tyrant. However, teams who does not have the weapon may have to get the enemy flag and throw it to the grav-lift/man cannon. A teammate should be on the opposite end and run the flag while another tries to keep opponents from entering their base.

The April update of “Halo 5” also comes with several new Reqs. There will be new weapons, armor and two new Hannibal types for the vehicles Mantis and Scorpion. Players can experiment with these and use them on the two new maps for added fun and excitement.

“Halo 5” launched in October 2015 and five free updates have been released since. “Ghosts of Meridian” is the latest. The last update, “Hammer Storm,” released in February 2016.

More updates and details on “Halo 5: Guardians – Ghosts of Meridian” are expected soon.
