'Fast And Furious 8' Cast & News: Lucas Black Will Replace Paul Walker As Vin Diesel's Road Partner

The hype about the next franchise of "Fast and Furious" is growing intense. What will happen to "Fast and Furious 8" without Paul Walker? There is no doubt that he will be missed because he is Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel) closest partner. However, new reports suggest that Diesel will have a new sidekick in "Fast and Furious 8."

Cinema Blend reports that Lucas Black's character Sean Boswell will return in "Fast and Furious 8." Black, the "Tokyo Drift" hero appeared in "Fast and Furious 6" to inform Dom that Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) killed Han. The two met in Tokyo and Dom brought Han's body in Los Angeles for a proper burial.

Per the report, Lucas Black has signed up for the seventh, eighth and ninth installment of "Fast and Furious." However, plans for the next films are fluid at the time.

According to Christian Today, considering Lucas Black's role in the third film, his character is a good replacement for Paul Walker's character Brian O'Connor. However, the big difference is that the latter has a closer bond with Dom because of his relationship with Dom's younger sister. Meanwhile, Sean's only connection to the team was Han.

The report notes that it's possible that Dom will contact Sean when things go out of control and the team needs another skilled man to take the wheels for them. If Lucas will be Toretto's next partner, it will be a huge role to fill and fans may see it differently.

Paul Walker and Vin Diesel's tandem is among the strengths of the "Fast and Furious" franchise. The two got so close like brothers even outside the set. In fact, Diesel named his youngest daughter "Pauline" as a tribute to Paul.

"I named her Pauline," Diesel told Today. "He was in the room. There's no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just ... knew he was there."

Meanwhile, Lucas Black is not yet listed for "Fast and Furious 10" which suggests that his character might be killed in the ninth installment. "Fast and Furious 8" premieres on April 14, 2017.
