Motherhood: Mom Blogger Tells Everyone 'Be Compassionate,' Goes Viral

Jennifer Campbell, the mom behind the blog Mama Lion Strong, is inspiring other moms and dads with her stories about the number of times she was an imperfect parent. Campbell's purpose in sharing her life as a mom is to reassure them that it's okay to admit your parenting fails while also encouraging others (parents and non-parents alike) to be more compassionate.

Campbell's experiences with her three sons range from head injuries to disappearances. The post that went viral on her Facebook page tells about the time her two-year-old son had left their yard without her noticing.

She was breastfeeding her youngest and watching her four-year-old play when an enraged woman appeared inside her yard with her escaped son in hand and demanded to know if she knew where her son had been. Campbell had hoped that upon seeing her situation with her infant and four-year-old, the lady would be more compassionate.

However, she was met with a lecture. Regardless, she thanked the woman and was left contemplating what could have happened to her son had he not been found.

Campbell shared this story as a response to the Chase Martens tragedy, a lost two-year-old boy in Manitoba who was found dead in a creek. The parents of the boy were criticized and many called the accident "preventable."

"This tragedy could have been our family. It could be yours. Because accidents happen, and when they do people need love and compassion, not lectures and blame," Campbell writes to her Facebook and Instagram followers alike.
