Boxing News & Update: Callum Smith Won European Title In A Fight With Hadillah Mohoumadi

Liverpool super-middleweight Callum Smith won a victory over Hadillah Mohoumadi in a star-making performance at the Echo Arena, on Saturday night, April 2.

With his victory achieved in just one minute and 41 seconds, Smith won the European title and, at the same time, also eliminated Badou Jack from the world title held.

Before the fight, Callum Smith explained in an interview for the Boxing News Online that he derives his strength from his family, especially from his younger sister Holly, who has autism. The fighter declared that he finds it very inspiring to see his sister "battling through life every day, but to also see her happy."

Smith added that there are many people complaining about their life but it actually could be worse. The fighter is wearing "Autism" on his shorts to raise awareness for the medical condition and to show support for families dealing with it.

According to Boxing News 24, Smith offered an impressive boxing show Saturday night at the Echo Arena. He hurt Mohoumadi with the first punch, throwing a left hook in landing to the head of his opponent while he was pushed by Mohoumadi against the ropes.

Mohoumadi wasn't able to properly recover from that shot. After backing up immediately, he started covering up. After Smith was able to tee off with his strong shots Mohoumadi tried to regroup by throwing some wild right hands and left hooks. However, his shots were not aimed properly and kept missing the opponent.

Smith came in force, throwing uppercuts and some body shots to back Mohoumadi up against the ropes. Mohoumadi covered up and took Smith's shots until the referee stepped in and stopped the fight.

Overall, the fight was a poor performance from Mohoumadi. He did not honor the high ranking received from the World Boxing Council (WBC). According to boxing experts, with the way he fought on Saturday night at the Echo Arena, Mohoumadi rated no more than a bottom 100 rather than number 6 with the WBC.
