Samsung Galaxy S7 versus iPhone 7: Which Is Really Better?

After the initial release of Samsung's Galaxy S7, it tremendously received positive reactions from actual consumers and professional reviewers alike. But unlike Samsung, Apple has not actually left a tremendous impression with its iPhone SE released last March.

Nevertheless, the true competition can be seen between iPhone 6s flagship and Samsung's Galaxy S7, or between Galaxy S7 and the much-rumored iPhone 7, arriving this September.

To see what really works best for you, it is worth knowing the major specs of iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7. Here is a brief comparison:

Features of Samsung Galaxy S7 as cited on Samsung.com.

  • Water-resistant. Samsung Galaxy S7 can repel splashes and spills as well as can even dunk without a protective case.
  • Expandable memory.  Running out of memory is never a problem. So if 32GB2 would not suffice, an additional 200GB with a microSD card can be added.
  • Smart and Sleek Design. Samsung Galaxy S7 features big screens in an incredibly slim design which fits comfortably in the palm of user's hand.
  • First Smartphone with Dual-pixel technology. Samsung Galaxy S7 can truly capture better photos in low-light environments. 5MP Front Camera.  Rear Camera: 12.2MP, 1.4um pixels, f/1.7 aperture, dual-pixel 100% phase detection sensor.
  • CPU and RAM: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820/Samsung Exynos 8890 processor; 4GB RAM.

Features of iPhone 7, as cited on Know Your Mobile:

  • Display. 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch Force Touch, yet more likely with a QHD display of 2560 x 1440 resolution
  • Storage Capacity. 32GB/64GB/128GB/256GB
  • CPU and RAM. A10 processor; 3GB RAM
  • Front Camera. 5MP with wide angle lens.
  • Rear Camera. 12MP; 4K video recording; optical image stabilization
  • Waterproofing. Not yet confirmed.

Samsung Galaxy S7, even though much different from its predecessors, is rather similar to Galaxy S6 in terms of its sleek design. The build quality and total shape as well as the materials are no different from the previous year's Galaxy S6 series, which are of course gorgeous. The most prominent improvements of Samsung Galaxy S7, however, include the addition of a microSD card slot and IP68 waterproofing.

On the other hand, the possible design of Apple's iPhone 7 is fairly limited at this juncture. In spite of this, a significant overhaul is likely to be expected considering that Apple is inclined to keep their phone models incremental, especially on the 'S' models. Major changes are indeed placed on by Apple on the lone number models with iPhone 7 being one of the latest. In general, a brand-new and exceptionally sleek iPhone 7, which is super thin and essentially made of metal, will be coming out this September.
