'Dungeons & Dragons' News: Reboot Has Finally Found A Director; Producers Want A 'Vin Diesel Type' Actor To Take The Lead

Many fans are looking forward to the reboot of "Dungeons & Dragons" and the film is making a good progress. According to the report, "Dungeons & Dragons" has already found its director and the producers already have an idea on what type of actor should take the lead.

Tracking Board reported that the "Goosebumps" director, Rob Letterman would helm the upcoming reboot of "Dungeons & Dragons." He will work on the script written by the "Wrath of the Titans" scribe, David Leslie Jones.

DigitalSpy reported that Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson originally designed the role-playing video game, "Dungeons & Dragons". It was first released in 1974.

Its success spawned a movie adaptation starring Jeremy Irons and Marlon Wayans. The "Dungeon & Dragons" film was released in 2000 and was directed by Courtney Solomon.

"Dungeons & Dragons" is an action-adventure film that tells the story of a warrior and his band of mystical creature that includes a half-dragon and cunning gnome. The team embarked on a dangerous journey to find a mythical treasure.

Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment, Stephen Davis and Brian Goldner of Hasbro and Courtney Solomon will produce "Dungeons & Dragons 2." John Middleton will be the executive producer.

Meanwhile, per the reports, the producers already have an idea on what type of actor would take the lead in the "Dungeons & Dragons" reboot. They want a Vin Diesel-type of actor to take the lead. The "Fast and Furious" star is a fan of the video game and admitted that he played it for over 20 years.

Moreover, there is no doubt that Vin Diesel is good with action films. Most of his films, including the "Fast and Furious" franchise, "xXx" film series and "The Last Witch Hunter" featured the actor in action.
