Fans are already getting excited for the much-anticipated television comeback of "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7. Just recently, TNT dropped some exciting details about the final season of the crime series including its premiere date.

Earlier this year, fans were quite surprised when TNT announced that "Rizzoli & Isles" will officially sign off after the series' upcoming Season 7. No specific reason has been pointed out why the series will be concluding but according to TNT and TBS president Kevin Reilly, it "was just the way it went down."

 "This is the last year for 'Rizzoli & Isles,'" Reilly said during the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena on Jan. 7, as per TVLine. "That's just the way it went down. [Harmon and Alexander] have had a really satisfying experience. I don't know that they wouldn't do anymore. But they felt very comfortable that it's had a good run. Everyone said, 'Let's go out and finish 13 great ones and call it a day.'"

Following the series' renewal in August 2015, "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7 will only comprise 13 episodes, according to Design & Trend. The upcoming seventh season's episodes will be the second shortest episode ordered by the network after the 10-episode "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 1.

2. "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7 Premiere Date

There have been speculations if when will "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7 will return on television. On Mar. 29, TNT finally confirmed that "Rizzoli & Isles" is set to premiere on Monday, Jun. 6 at 9 p.m., CarterMatt reveals.

Aside from "Rizzoli & Isles" Season 7, the network also announced the premiere dates for "The Last Ship" Season 3 on Jun. 12, "Major Crimes" Season 5 on Jun. 13 and "Murder in the First" Season 3 on Jun. 19. In addition, TNT's new series, "Animal Kingdom" is set to premiere on Jun. 7, Entertainment Weekly notes.
