'Clash of Clans' March Update & News: March Upgrade Comes With More Issues Than Expected; Supercell Rolls Out Optional Update Better Visual Air Defenses & More

Last month, Supercell released their anticipated Bowler update. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out well. Once again, the developers received intense backlash following their recent update. Gamers encountered several bugs. Is Supercell sure of their update before they deployed it?

Parent Herald previously reported that the "Clash of Clans" March update arrived with several problems including the dreaded device compatibility issue. Some features stopped working like the account-switching feature and the based layout editor crashed.

On the other hand, many were disappointed with the improved matchmaking feature that Supercell promised to "Clash of Clans" gamers. One team claimed that their new Town Hall 11 was matched to a fully maxed Town Hall 11, where they do not have any chances of winning. The new "Clash of Clans" matchmaking algorithm focused more on the win-loss ratio of the clans and not on the structures and strategy.

In a separate report from Parent Herald, Supercell already fixed some of the "Clash of Clans" issues following their March update. Among the problems that were fixed are the heal rates of the healers, the traps that were not triggered by the heroes, the "Clash of Clans" matchmaking issue, Valkyrie's health points and the notifications for "Clash of Clans" that stopped functioning for some devices after the "Clash of Clans" March Update.

Per Neurogadget, the "Clash of Clans" March Update brought more issues than expected. It disappointed many "Clash of Clans" players.

Following Supercell's failure every time they offer "Clash of Clans" update, the team is now offering an optional update. In the Supercell forum, they announced that an optional update is available. This update will not require any maintenance and "Clash of Clans" gamers can download it once it is available in the app store.

The said "Clash of Clans" optional update includes the following:

  • War base edit mode crash when pressing "cancel" is now fixed;
  • Air Defense graphics have been tweaked: they're easier to spot now and to identify each level;
  • War Events screen: old and new Stars are now more clear and easy to read.

What do you think of the optional update? Is Supercell doing this to reduce their responsibility for future issues and minimize the number of players who will complain about the update should it have issues? Share your thoughts below.
