Nike Releases 'Be True' Dunks, 'Chicken and Waffle' Sneakers

Sneakers fans will have a fun time dunking basketballs and then taking a waffle break with Nike's new releases.

Nike's Dunk had its defining moment with the "Be True to Your School" series, and with new upcoming releases, fans of that series will get to relive the old 'glory days' again, reports The Boom Box. Nike is re-releasing two colorways of the famed sneaker series in honor of the collegiate basketball campaign.

The Nike Dunk High is releasing two colorways that represent St. John's and Kentucky, respectively, in a red/white or blue/white model, both in leather. Although the sneakers look quite simple, they look fantastic and make their own statement, especially when in the college courts.

Both models of the Nike Dunk High are set for release on April 8 at select Nike Retailers.

After playing collegiate basketball, you'd want to have some food to chomp on. Nike has something for that, too, reports Mashable. Nike has recently released a new pair of kicks inspired by a favorite breakfast combo: Chicken and Waffles.

Nike explains the sumptuous idea behind the delicious-looking shoe in its website:

"Legend has it that the favorite meal of a number of Nike SB pros is the hearty and comforting dish, Chicken and Waffles. That was all the design team needed to hear before sparking up the grill and creating a wearable culinary masterpiece."

Dubbed the Nike Dunk High Premium "Waffle," is resembles the breakfast itself: the shoe patterned to look like a waffle, the Nike Swoosh logo (four of it) looking like it's smothered with waffle syrup, a sole looking like it's drenched in syrup, and the insoles sporting chicken and waffles art.

Don't be fooled, the Waffle shoe is not just for going around waffle stores: it features full cupsole stitching and Zoom Air cushioning units so your feet stay safe and comfortable while you dunk that waffle.

The Nike Dunk High Premium "Waffle" is currently available for $110 at Nike.com and select retailers.
