'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 News, Cast & Update: Upcoming Season Will Be Last? Ian Somerhalder Confirms Rumors

There are a lot of speculations surrounding the hit series "The Vampire Diaries." There has been no confirmation yet whether or not rumors claiming that "The Vampire Diaries" will be ending are true.

"The Vampire Diaries" is one of the most successful series in television today. In fact, it is followed by many fans from all around the world, which makes the ending of "The Vampire Diaries" extremely saddening for many of the fans.

During a talk at Walker Stalker Conference, Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon Salvatore, announced that the producers and the actors have decided to do one last season of "The Vampire Diaries" to really do justice on the hit series. Then, another update on the fate of "The Vampire Diaries" was released by People's Choice Twitter account, saying that there has been no decision made about the fate of "The Vampire Diaries".

One of the actresses in "The Vampire Diaries," Kat Graham, who plays Bonnie Bennet, has announced recently that she will be quitting the show. Several fans have speculated that it is a sign that maybe "The Vampire Diaries" is really ending soon, especially that Kat Graham's character has been quite important in "The Vampire Diaries" recently. Julie Plec, executive producer of "The Vampire Diaries," also gave a statement regarding to the news that "The Vampire Diaries" will be ending soon.

"I'm going to be dead honest with you: I was so happy to get Season 8 that even the idea of Season 9 is so far away - I haven't even started thinking about it," she recently told TVLine. "I know Kat made her announcement; I wish her everything she wants, and she can stay as long as she wants."

But, for CW, the TV network of "The Vampire Diaries," there is no news yet to the fate of the series.
