'Diablo 3' New Patch: 2.4.1 Update to Introduce Pets, Wings, & Other Rewards [Details]

Fans are in for a treat as Blizzard Entertainment releases exciting updates for "Diablo 3." The upcoming 2.4.1 patch will feature new rewards for players, including wings, cosmetic items, and special types of pets.

Special Types of Pets

In a recent blog post, Blizzard announced that special pets have been added to the game to make up for the lack of it in past updates. With this, a special new type of goblin will be introduced for fans' enjoyment.

When you defeat the goblin it will drop off one of the few new pets, which includes a "walking" hand, a young boy wielding a sword and shield, and a type of bipedal goat/sheep-like man. Players will be able to acquire a new pet every time they kill the goblin, but only if you haven't accumulated them all yet.

Majority of the goblins in "Diablo 3" aren't the type to fight. At the first sign of trouble, the goblins scurry off and leave loot and goods in their wake, which you can then claim for your own.

Some of the goblins who only care for material possessions are the Treasure Goblin, Gem Hoarder, Odious Collector, Blood Thief, Rainbow Goblin, Gelatinous Sire and Insufferable Miscreant. You can learn about these goblins' identities on the "Diablo 3" official site.

New Exciting Items: Wings, Pets, Rare Objects

Items and equipment in "Diablo 3" can be acquired all throughout the game if you know where to look. The objects don't just come from monsters; they are also hidden in containers or corpses.

Items in your pathway glow if they are important. Their names are also displayed so players will know the objects they are picking up. It should be noted, however, that equipment are based on level and character class. For more info about the game's items, refer to the "Diablo 3" website here.

Aside from the special pets, the new patch for "Diablo 3" will introduce new transmogrification items that are also common-quality objects, Blizzard's blog post continued. Those items will come from named enemies and rare chests, and will provide more methods for players when it comes to modifying their appearances even if new Legendaries aren't presented.

Even More Rewards

The new transmogrification items will be located in the Adventure Mode, a realm in the game filled with bounties. Other objects can come from Rift Guardians as well.

Other extra-rare rewards are wings and a portrait frame that are scattered across the world of Sanctuary. Blizzard's blog post said these rewards are rarer than others and "all present some challenge to track down."

The preliminary PTR patch 2.4.1 notes for "Diablo 3" can be viewed here. Information about items, classes, adventure modes, monsters and crafting are detailed there. The final version of the patch notes, however, will feature some changes when it rolls out.
