Kobe Bryant Bids Farewell To Basketball; An Emotional Night For The Black Mamba, Lakers Fans

Kobe Bryant announced his retirement during his last game on April 13 at the Staples Center for the LA Lakers. Fans were sad about him leaving the industry, but he was given honor after helping his team win against the Utah Jazz with a score of 101-96 one last time.

It was a sad day for die-hard Lakers fans when the Black Mamba made his retirement speech in front of the crowd on Wednesday night. ESPN posted a video of Bryant, as he was seen getting all emotional while delivering his speech. He was grateful for all the fans that supported him from the start of his career. It has been 20 years since Kobe Bryant played for the Lakers. It was two decades of hard work for the Black Mamba and he ended it on a high note.

The father-of-two couldn't believe it himself that he has stayed that long in an organization that he has been a die-hard fan of Lakers since he was a little boy. The 18-time All-Star player couldn't help but be proud of his accomplishments in the team saying, "You can't write something better than this."

The 37-year-old athlete was more proud of the down moments of his team than their championships. "Because we didn't run," Kobe Bryant explained. "We played through all that stuff, and we got our championships, and we did it the right way." News.com reported that the basketball legend made 60 points in his last game, which also made Lakers, won over the Utah Jazz. Kobe Bryant made sure his fans remembered him by finishing 23 points for his last term.It sure was an emotional and memorable night the minute fans heard that last buzzer, as the game ended.
