'Jurassic Word 2' Cast, News & Update: Jeff Goldblum Willing To Reprise Role

"Jurassic World" was a blockbuster hit. It achieved its success without the main characters from the original trilogy, except for B.D. Wong, who showed up as Dr. Henry Wu. However, "Jurassic World 2" might be different because there are rumors that one key character from "Jurassic Park" will appear in the "Jurassic" sequel.

Jeff Goldblum Will Join "Jurassic World 2"

MovieWeb reported that Jeff Goldblum might return for more dinosaur adventures in "Jurassic World 2." The actor was asked if he is willing to reprise his role as Dr. Malcolm in "Jurassic World 2" and his answer was promising.

"I'm nothing if not open. I'm like an open-faced sandwich. My door is not always open -- I took the door off," Jeff Goldblum told Fandango. "I removed the hinges from the door. I'm too open. I'm like a chicken piccata."

"What was I about to say? Oh yes, the two [Jurassic] movies I did with them were plenty," added Jeff Goldblum. "If I never did anything more, I'd certainly be well satisfied." 

Goldblum's Presence Not Necessary In "Jurassic World 2"

On the same interview, Jeff Goldblum admitted that "Jurassic World" was doing very well without him. When the interviewer told Goldblum that "Jurassic World 2" would surely benefit from his presence.

Jeff Goldblum was very thankful and said, "Yes, yes, but what movie doesn't need a little seasoning of Goldblum? So few. 'The Danish Girl'? No, not really. Not that one."

Meanwhile, CinemaBlend thinks that it is unlikely that Goldblum will be offered a role in "Jurassic World 2." The first film had enough element of honoring the past but the majority of the film was moving into the future.

There's should be one good reason to bring back the franchise's past. However, should Ian Malcolm find his way in "Jurassic World 2" he is very welcome. "Jurassic World 2" will hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
