'Kingdom Hearts 3' Release Date, News & Update: Title May Not Arrive Until 2017, Learn Why

The release date of the anticipated game "Kingdom Hearts 3" remains to be one of the most talked topics among "Kingdom Hearts" fans and gamers. Unfortunately, Square Enix remains mum as to when the game will be out, but new reports suggest that "KH3" will likely be out in 2017.

Fans Have Been Waiting For "Kingdom Hearts 3" For Years

Hall Of Fame Magazine  reported that fans have been waiting for "Kingdom Hearts 3" for years, but it was only last year when Square Enix treated their fans with "KH3" gameplay and spoilers at E3. Since then, nothing is concrete about "KH3" and the developers remain mum especially when it comes to its release date.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" Pushed Back To 2017

Fans will surely be disappointed with this report because per CrossMap, "Kingdom Hearts 3" will likely have a 2017 release. Here are two reasons why "KH3" is still months or maybe a year or years away.

1. Quinton Flynn has not recorded for "Kingdom Hearts 3" yet - Parent Herald previously reported that Quinton Flynn has not started recording for "KH3" at the time. The voice actor posted this in a tweet where he wrote, "Speaking of Axel, when is the new Kingdom Hearts going into production? Step it up. Quinton needs to pay his bills!" He also confirmed to a fan that he has not started any work for "Kingdom Hearts 3" yet.
2. It is not practical to release "KH3" along with "Final Fantasy 15" - Per the report, Square Enix is gearing up for the release of "Final Fantasy 15," which is set later this year. It took almost a decade before Square Enix decided to release "Final Fantasy 15" and releasing this with "Kingdom Hearts 3" might confuse fans to choose between the two titles, especially if the games will be released a month or so apart. Thus, since "KH3" has no release date, it will likely give way for "Final Fantasy 15."
