Three-Year Old Boy's Insomnia Cured After Eating Bananas Daily

A three-year old boy who has been suffering from insomnia has finally found a cure by simply eating bananas on a daily basis, the Daily Mail reports.

Aaron Battersby has struggled with irregular sleep patterns throughout his life, and sometimes wakes up screaming in the middle of the night. His mother, Maryann, tried different methods to help him sleep well, but to no avail. That is when they finally resorted to feeding the three-year old boy with bananas. Maryann and her partner, Matthew Hopkins, 34 were told by their son's doctor, as well as the Child Development Center at their local hospital to try different types of cures, including soothing music, placng a heavy quilt on Aaron's bed, installing orange lights in his bedroom and changing the decoration of his room - but nothing worked.

While still searching for a cure, Maryann approached Vicki Dawson, a sleep expert based at the Arnold Center in Rotherham, south Yorkshire. Dawson is also the founder of the Children's Sleep Charity. She advised Aaron's parents to give their son a solid banana before bed and to their surprise, it actually worked. "It was amazing. Now we are a normal family. Aaron goes to bed and then me and Matthew can sit down together and have time together," said Maryann.

"Aaron is amazing now - he's a happy little boy. We were really at our wits' end. We'd done everything to try and get Aaron to sleep and I would dread what the nights would hold. Matthew's a roadworker and he would have to sleep in the spare bed because he was working 12-hour shifts and I was constantly up and down."
