MacBook Air 2016 Release Date, News & Update: MacBook Air Coming Out Soon But Could Be The Last Model Because Apple Is Set To Discontinue Their Line Of MacBook Air

MacBook Air 2016 is one of the most anticipated laptops this year. In fact, Apple fans expected to see the new model of MacBook Air in the company's spring event last March but to the dismay of many, Apple's first thinnest laptop did not make it. However, new reports suggest that MacBook Air 2016 will be arriving soon.

MacBook Air On Sale, New Model Discontinued

The old models of MacBook Air were on sale and new models were now discontinued, which triggers the rumors that MacBook Air 2016 is arriving soon. According to News Everyday, Apple authorized reseller, Best Buy, puts the 12-inch MacBook Air on sale for five weeks and they completely stopped selling the next-gen model. The MacBook Air 2015 models are listed as "discontinued."

Based on the Apple Insider list, Best Buy's product pages says, "this item is no longer available" and every other model shows, "sold out." Best Buy has been using these terminologies when the current product is discontinued or if the new version is coming soon. Many believe that this is a huge hint that MacBook Air 2016 is on the way.

MacBook Air 2016 Could Be MacBook Air's Last

There is no doubt that many are happy that MacBook Air 2016 is coming ,but there are speculations that Apple will soon axe MacBook Air to promote their new laptop line up, MacBook, which is lighter and thinner than MacBook Air.

According to Master Herald, MacBook Air 2016 could be Air's last model before Apple discontinues its line to pave the way for MacBook. This is not impossible given that MacBook has already obtained the title that was previously of MacBook Air.

MacBook Air was designed to be the lightest and thinnest laptop, but the Cupertino-based tech giant designed a better one, in the form of MacBook. In fact, Apple just upgraded their MacBook line.

Parent Herald previously reported that MacBook will now be sporting the latest processor and will come with better battery life and performance. The new MacBook is available in pink color.

MacBook Air 2016 and MacBook Pro 2016 are expected to arrive in June during Apple's WWDC. Apple has not confirmed this report yet but most, if not all, believe that this is the best timing since WWDC is Apple's next big event this year.
