Rachel Zoe watches Fashion Week from home, newborn resting on her chest

Rachel Zoe's view of New York Fashion Week is a little different this year than in years past.

Far from the sidelines, the 42-year-old fashion designer and mother of two posted a picture of herself on Instagram reclining in bed with the Oscar de la Renta show streaming on her laptop - her newborn baby perched on her chest. Beside her lay her associate stylist Jordan Johnson.

"This is how my team and I watch the Oscar de la Renta show when no wifi at the office," Zoe captioned the picture, along with the hashtags #ODLRLIVE #RZFW #STUNNING.

Zoe announced she would pass on this year's Fashion Week in January, when she called off her show scheduled for Feb. 13.

"While I look forward to New York Fashion Week each season, I've made the difficult decision to move our fall 2014 runway show from Feb. 13 in New York to a later date in Los Angeles," Zoe said in a statement released to Women's Wear Daily. "As a new mother, my newborn son is too young to travel with me, and I'm unable to leave him for the amount of time required to appropriately prepare for the show in New York."

Kaius "Kai" Jagger was born Dec. 22 to Zoe and her husband of 18 years, Roger Berman. The couple's first child, Skyler, is 2 years old.

During her career, Zoe has worked with stars like Nicole Richie, Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Lindsay Lohan and Cameron Diaz, among others.

"So many women get their fashion information by looking at paparazzi pictures, and she has found a way of making those girls look fabulous when they're running out for a Starbucks," designer Michael Kors has said of Zoe's impact.
