'Transformers 5' Cast, News & Update: New Film Will Have A Female Lead; 'Transformers 5' Out In 2017, 'Transformers 6' In 2019

There is no doubt that "Transformers" fans are looking forward to "Transformers 5" and the rest of the sequels that are on the way. According to reports, "Transformers 5" will be out in 2017 while "Transformers 6" will follow in two years after. Moreover, there will be a new female lead.

"Transformers 5" Will Have A Female Lead

The Wrap reported that the "Transformers 5" production is eyeing Nickelodeon star Isabela Moner for a lead role in the upcoming film. Per the report, Moner will play young lead Izabella, a street-smart tomboy who grew up as an orphan and was raised in foster care. The character has no friend except for a small Transformer until she meets Mark Wahlberg.

If reports are true, then the franchise will have its first female lead in "Transformers 5." According to Movie News Guide, the "Transformers" series has been accused of sexism by the way it treated female stars Megan Fox and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. However, with Moner on the lead for "Transformers 5," the past flaws in the franchise might be forgotten.

Jerrod Carmichael To Join "Transformers 5"

In a separate report from the Wrap, Jerrod Carmichael is in talks to join Mark Wahlberg in "Transformers 5." However, Paramount neither confirmed nor denied the reports. According to Enstarz, Carmichael is not a popular face and will be a newcomer for a massive franchise like "Transformers." However, Carmichael is a popular and talented comedian. His projects include "Neighbors," "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising," "The Meddler," and "The Masterpiece."

"Transformers 5" And "Transformers 6" Release Dates

Meanwhile, Yibada reported that "Transformers 5" would be released on June 23, 2017 while "Transformers 6" is slated for a 2019 release. The release date for "Transformers 5" is likely possible, given that the fifth iteration of the franchise is slated for a 2017 release. However, fans should still take these reports with a grain of salt because the said dates are not yet confirmed.

Do you believe that "Transformers 5" will be out on the said date? Are you excited for "Transformers 5?" Are you happy that it will have a female lead? Share your thoughts below.
