Jessica Simpson opens up about her weight loss

Jessica Simpson says she couldn't believe how much her weight fluctuated during her pregnancies.

The 33-year old singer and fashion mogul gained a significant amount of weight in both cases, and found it difficult each time to get rid of it afterwards. In her recent commercial for the diet franchise Weight Watchers, she revealed a much more slender version of herself than many were used to.

"I was so insecure. I couldn't even believe what I weighed," she told Good Morning America in an interview.

In 2012, Simpson gave birth to her daughter Maxwell. She lost 50 pounds afterwards, only to discover she was once again pregnant with her now seven-month old son, Ace.

The 33-year old singer and fashion mogul confessed that the numbers she saw on the scale surprised her.

"I don't think that I ever expected myself to see the numbers that I have seen on the scale," Simpson said.

She says that no woman should ever be ashamed of gaining weight because of pregnancy.

"You are creating a life and honestly it's not easy. It is really a hard thing to go through. And you deserve to eat what your ice cream, you deserve to have your pancakes. Do whatever you want to do and then afterwards just know that you have to work really hard," she said.

Now, Simpson makes it a point to stay active and follow a healthy diet that works well for her. "For breakfast I am an oatmeal girl," she said. "Lunch, I do like bread so I will have a sandwich or something. But for dinner I try to keep it super clean."

As of late, Simpson is also busy planning her upcoming wedding to former NFL player Eric Johnson, the date of which has not been revealed.
