'Fast & Furious 8' News & Update: Production Has Officially Begun Filming In Cuba; Will Shoot In Cleveland In May And June

The eight installment of the hit street-racing film, "Fast and Furious" is rolling. According to reports, the "Fast and Furious 8" production has already begun filming in Cuba.

"Fast and Furious 8" Films In Cuba

"Fast and Furious 8" will be the follow up of last year's "Fast and Furious 7." The last film was the highest-grossing film in the franchise. It was also the most emotional as it sends of Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Connor.

The "Fast and Furious 8" team is down with one man, who is equally influential as Vin Diesel in the success of the franchise. However, as they say, the show must go on.

ScreenRant reported that "Fast and Furious 8" has officially begun filming in Cuba. Actor-producer Vin Diesel confirmed this in a video he posted featuring himself and the "Fast 8" director F. Gary Gray. Check out the short clip below.

Meanwhile, per the report, "Fast and Furious 8" will be fully international in scope. At the time, the "Fast and Furious" team is shooting in Cuba, but they are also expected to film in Iceland, New York and Cleveland.

"Fast and Furious 8" To Shoot In Cleveland In May

Meanwhile, Cleveland reported that "Fast And Furious 8" would also film in Cleveland next month. The Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC) announced that "Fast 8" would shoot the second unit photography in Cleveland Ohio from May until June 2016.

However, fans should not expect Vin Diesel or Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the area because second-units mean action shot with stunt performers for the most part. This also means that there will be a lot of char chasing and road closures.

Speaking of road closures, GCFC President Ivan Schwarz disclosed in an interview that the production company has not designated, which roads or highways they will use. "They're working that out now," he said. "As they get closer, that information will come out."

The "Fast and Furious 8" second unit director is Spiro Razatos and he is familiar with the city and its traffic. He also did this for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Captain America: Civil War." In fact, Schwarz commended him. "He's definitely the guy to go to for chase scenes and major stunts,"

"Fast and Furious 8" will hit the big screens on April 14, 2017.
