Marc Anthony: A Bad Dad? Jennifer Lopez’s Ex-Husband Reveals Parenting Regrets

Being a parent can be both rewarding and challenging. But sometimes career won't just seamlessly coalesce with parenthood, just like in Marc Anthony's case. So, does this make him a bad dad?

Marc Anthony's Biggest Parenting Regret

In a recent interview with CBS' "Sunday Morning," the 47-year-old singer candidly confessed that he wishes to be able to spend more quality time with his kids. According to People, Marc Anthony's biggest parenting regret was how much time he missed with his kids because of his chosen career.

"The one regret would be that what I chose to do took so much of my time," Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband confessed. "What I would have done to have been a stay-at-home dad, and you know, witnessed every second of everything. I would have loved that. Didn't work out that way."

Career Vs. The Kids

Aside from not having enough time with his kids, Marc Anthony also questions if his successful career, burgeoning millions and several businesses were worth the time apart from his children. In fact, Anthony is not just a renowned Latin American singer, but he is also an entrepreneur and owner of Kohl's clothing line Magnus Media, as well as a part-owner of the Miami Dolphins.

"It's the one thing that just tugs at me going and... that's the biggest sacrifice," Marc Anthony told Tracy Smith, as per Us Weekly. "And you sort of ... start to wonder, 'Was it all worth it? Was it worth it?' You know, on that level."

Growing Up And Being "Ugly"

In addition to his parenting regrets, Marc Anthony also shared a glimpse of his childhood and his experiences growing up as one of eight children in New York City. Anthony admitted that he was a "pain in the ass" to his mother while his father always encouraged him to work on his personality because they were "ugly," Daily Mail notes.

Marc Anthony is currently married to model Shannon De Lima, whom he married in the Dominican Republic in November 2014. As for his children, he has two sons from his marriage to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, 15-year-old Cristian and 12-year-old Ryan, New York Daily News learns.

Marc Anthony also has a 22-year-old daughter named Arianna and an adopted son named Chase, with ex-girlfriend Debbie Rosado. With ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, on the other hand, Anthony has eight-year-old twins Max and Esme.
