'The Big Bang Theory' Cast, News & Updates: Mayim Bialik Says Cast Members Are Overpaid; Kaley Cuoco Not Leaving Show

"The Big Bang Theory" cast members have been enjoying nine seasons of successful popularity. Mayim Balik, who plays Amy Fowler and love interest to Sheldon (Jim Parson), says that "The Big Bang Theory" stars are overpaid to boot.

New York Daily reports that Mayim Balik revealed that "The Big Bang Theory" stars are each paid a huge chunk of salary. Rightly so given how well "The Big Bang Theory" has done for so long.

Yahoo! highlights that the popularity "The Big Bang Theory" enjoys is uncommon. After ending season one with 8.4 million viewers, "The Big Bang Theory" continuously grew in loyal viewership across the years. By season 9, "The Big Bang Theory" reportedly averages 20.3 million viewers with each episode.

Mayim Balik qualified her statement about "The Big Bang Theory" cast members being overpaid. According to Mayim Balik, the description with which she tagged "The Big Bang Theory" salaries applies to all actors when compared to those in more normal, non-showbiz employments.

Balik credits both cast and writers for the unqualified and unique success of "The Big Bang Theory." "I don't think the pay has anything to do with the quality of the show," Mayim Balik said. "We have an extraordinary cast and amazing writing staff and people all care passionately about putting on a show every week."

While "The Big Bang Theory" season 9 is closing soon, fans will be happy to know that show lead Kaley Cuoco is not leaving the show. Reports alleged that Kaley Cuoco was being fired from "Big Bang Theory" because of behavior issues. Others alleged that Kaley Cuoco is actually quitting "The Big Bang Theory."

Just Jared, however, reports that Kaley Cuoco addressed the issue on social media. According to Kaley Cuoco, she's sticking with "The Big Bang Theory" until the end. This is good news indeed and fans can rest easy while the "The Big Bang Theory" takes a break and prepares for the next season.
