iPhone 7 Leaks, News & Update: Apple To Remove Smart Connector Feature?

There are swirling rumors that the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be accompanied with a Smart Connector. However, the new reports from a Japanese website suggested that Apple is not going to execute the claims and will actually remove the significant feature. 

Apple Dropped The Idea Of Using Smart Connector

According to Mac Rumors and Mac Otakara -- the source of the emerging news -- Apple chose to abandon the idea of employing Smart Connector in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. But, as Apple didn't confirm anything, the hearsays of a Smart Connector on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus might not be true at all.

Why Apple Thought To Utilize Smart Connector On iPhones?

TechRadar reported the speculations about Apple allowing the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to have a Smart Connector is still unknown. If this indeed is true, the bigger iPhone, which is likely the iPhone 7 Plus, will carry the Smart Connector.

It was in April when the news about Apple's decision to use a Smart Connector from the iPad Pro line to the next generation iPhones. It has been said the "3-pin port" will let the users connect other accessories on their iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus -- like the Smart Keyboard -- and could be used as another charging point.

Other iPhone 7 Rumored Features

Latin Times recalled that Apple first brought the Smart Connector to its iPad Pro series. The Smart Connector is an innovative dock that can work to transfer data and power by connecting the device to another accessory.

The iPhone 7 was first rumored to have a waterproof feature, the elimination of headphone jack, to have stereo speakers, a stick out rear camera and more. Apple stays to keep everything under wraps, but it is expected that the tech giant will shed some light in the coming months, particularly at the imminent WWDC 2016 this June.
