'Pitch Perfect 3' Release News & Update: Anna Kendrick Starrer Gets Bumped; More Cameos Expected

Fans of "Pitch Perfect" who are waiting for the third movie would be thrilled to know that Universal has moved its theater day earlier. Set for an Aug. 4 release, "Pitch Perfect 3" will be now be hitting theaters on July 21, 2017.  The possibility of more cameos in the film is also happening.

"Pitch Perfect 3" will have Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow reuniting along with the last movie's new recruit, Hailee Steinfeld. Elizabeth Banks is also back to direct and produce the film.

"Pitch Perfect 3" A Strong Box Office Contender

The studio did not reveal the reasons why it switched up the schedule for "Pitch Perfect 3" again. But it will be up against films like "Dunkirk" and "Valerian and the City of Thousand Planets" in its new theater date.

Universal should be confident about the musical comedy's box-office chances. In the past, "Pitch Perfect" has always exceeded its filming budget. The first movie had a $17 million budget and earned $115 million worldwide, while the second movie had a $29 million budget and earned $288 million, per Entertainment Weekly.

"Pitch Perfect 3" Plot, Cameos And Filming

Filming for "Pitch Perfect 3" is set to begin in the summer. Director Banks didn't want to give out any details to the development but admitted there will be some surprises and more cameos. " I don't want to tell you very much about what we're planning," she told Collider. "I think I'm really excited to figure out what the big cameos are going to be.

Parent Herald previously reported that Justin Bieber might be in "Pitch Perfect 3" as Hailee Steinfeld's love interest. It is speculated that the third movie will zero in on her character, Emily, as the new leader of The Barden Bellas.
