'Half-Life 3' Gameplay, News & Updates: 4 Ways Valve Can Create A Groundbreaking Game For This Generation

Fans have been waiting for "Half-Life 3" for more than a decade now and the hype just keeps on increasing. "Half-Life 3" needs to be spectacularly great in order to justify and match the hype and anticipation it has built among gamers. So what can Valve do in order to produce a groundbreaking game for our generation?

Take Big Risks With The Gameplay

"I would be looking to take risks, BIG risks trying new things," Tripwire Interactive John Gibson wrote via PC Gamer. Valve can afford to take a lot of risks with "Half-Life 3" because they have a lot of money to use from their Steam war chest.

Doing something unique and different with the gameplay is the only way not to disappoint fans who have waited 12 years for "Half-Life 3." Making sure that the gameplay is fun and enjoyable for every moment of the gameplay is also a must.

Another area of improvement that Valve needs to focus on for "Half-Life 3" is its weapons system. "Valve shooters traditionally have weapons that play well up close, and well at a distance, but at mid-range combat have been fairly lacking," Gibson noted.

Create A Great Story

Focusing all their energies on creating state unique gameplay experience would be a mistake. "A great story is what separated the first two Half-Life games from their competitors, and the same should be true for Half-Life 3," Gibson added.

State-Of-The-Art Graphics

One of the biggest reasons why the previous "Half-Life" games were critically acclaimed is their effective and groundbreaking graphics. Valve has to move forward with "Half-Life 3" and show that the series is not dated.

Using New Technology

Another way to satisfy the hype and anticipation built up through the years by "Half-Life 3" is to integrate new and exciting technology for the game. Although previous reports from last year say that the new game will not be in Virtual Reality, rumors have recently surfaced that "Half-Life 3" will be a fully VR game, The Rem shares.
