Abortion News: Rate Of Abortion Dipping In Developed Countries But Stays the Same For Poor Countries

Over the last 25 years, the rate of abortion in well-to-do countries dropped at a very significant rate compared to countries that are not well-heeled, women's health remains at risk and innocent babies' lives are taken with absolutely no good reason at all. The importance of modern contraception like hormonal pills, IUD and implants are at a high level to avoid abortions and unexpected or unwanted pregnancies.

A study from Guttmacher Institute and WHO, published in The Lancet shows that restrictive abortion laws do not and still cannot save the poor babies lives. 56 million abortions are performed illegally around the world every year, the range of the age undergoing this process starts at a very heart breaking 15 years old up to 44.

As studies have found that this unfortunate event happens because of lack of admission of modern contraceptives technique in slow developing countries. "In developing countries, family planning services do not seem to be keeping up with the increasing desire for smaller families. More than 80 percent of unintended pregnancies are experienced by women with an unmet need for modern methods of contraception, and many unwanted pregnancies end in abortion," Dr. Gilda Sedgh at the Guttmacher Institute, New York, USA explained.

Meanwhile in developing countries, they have more access to modern contraception, women are given more modern learning on family planning for them to have a control over timing and how many kids they plan to have. "In developed countries, the continued fall in abortion rates is largely due to increased use of modern contraception that has given women greater control over the timing and number of children they want," Dr. Sedgh said.

The data from the surveys of nationally representatives were used to study abortion. The research includes information about the level of what is really needed and the occurrence of contraceptive use according to its method. The high rate of this abortion shows that these countries badly need help in saving women's health and babies' lives that may one day become the president of their country or might play an important role in their lives.
