'High School Musical 4' News & Update: Corbin Bleu Seen At Anaheim Auditions; Is He Returning?

A former cast member of the original "High School Musical" dropped by the open casting call for "High School Musical 4" at Anaheim, California May 15. Corbin Bleu, who played Chad Danforth in the musical series 10 years ago, surprised the crowd of hopefuls waiting for their turn at the auditions. Is he going to be in the new show?

Corbin Bleu gave the young audience a pep talk before they faced the producers and casting directors of "High School Musical 4." "I may have surprised them today, but they surprised me," said Bleu in an interview, per Entertainment Weekly.  "It was incredible to see how many people were coming out to be a part of the 'High School Musical' experience," he said.

Corbin Bleu Inspires 'High School Musical 4' Dreamers

OC Register reports that Corbin Bleu told the teenagers that more than becoming stars of "High School Musical 4," this experience will teach them about working hard, bonding with their cast mates and sharing themselves to the world. "I hope these kids capture that. The feeling that they're feeling now - it's about sharing it," the actor said. Watch Corbin Bleu prepping and inspiring the kids in this video below:


Corbin Bleu also indulged the teenagers with group pics and high-fives at the "High School Musical 4" auditions. Whether they will have the chance to work with the actor or not is still unclear. Disney has not announced whether Corbin Bleu will have a cameo in "High School Musical 4."


Over 5,000 hopefuls lined up at the venue where Disney is casting five major roles and supporting parts for "High School Musical 4." The studio began with the process of the open auditions for "High School Musical 4" in early April to give kids who have no agents and entertainment representation a chance to live their dream.

'High School Musical 4' Casts Merit Leighton In Lead?

Meanwhile, Just Jared reports that Merit Leighton is apparently in the running for one of the lead parts. The 13-year-old star of "Sofia The First" could either play Erin, the only girl on the soccer team, or Nathalie, the cheerleader and Erin's best friend or Tamara, the queen bee.
