Thousands Of Students Around The World Speak Out Against School Bullying [VIDEO]

Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) is a non-profit organization focused on spreading ideas in the form of short but powerful talks that usually last for not more than 18 minutes. TED recently gave a platform for 10,000 students from different countries to share any of their ideas to the world. Many of those young students chose to use that platform to talk about and express their ideas, concerns and thoughts about school bullying.

It is good to know that many students are aware of how big of a problem school bullying really is. School bullying can destroy a student's self-esteem and self-perception and can also cause anxiety and depression, ESchool Today shares. It can also make kids lose interest in going to school and making friends. Physical injuries and mental disorders could also arise because of school bullying.

One student from the video also noted that there are different forms of bullying. Some bullies use physical force to abuse, others use words in order to hurt and some use the internet to destroy other people's lives, Very Well explains.

Many of the students commented that students should learn how to use their words and actions to help and encourage others. Many of them are willing to speak out and do something to help students who experience school bullying. Hopefully, adults will also say and do more about addressing and fixing this big problem.

There are several ways for parents and teachers to prevent school bullying. Teachers need to always remain vigilant and to always set positive expectations on student behavior, according to the American Psychological Association. Parents can also help fight school bullying by teaching their kids how to defend themselves, regularly attending school meetings to check on their child's condition at school and getting involved in the school's anti-bullying teams.
