‘Limitless’ Season 2 Unlikely To Happen? EP Teases On Brian’s Future Should CBS Renew The Show

"Limitless" Season 2 on CBS seems highly unlikely to happen given the network's recent statement regarding the show's future on air. While the network confirmed that the series is being shopped elsewhere, executive producer Craig Sweeny dishes on Brian's future should it get renewed in another network.

Fans continue to worry over the future of "Limitless" Season 2 on TV. A recent statement from CBS president Glenn Geller shuns all hopes that the show would be renewed for another season.

"Right now we're in discussions with other potential buyers, so I'd rather not comment on that at the moment," said Geller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

While Geller did not entirely confirm that "Limitless" has been cancelled on CBS, many fans believed that the statement alone is already a confirmation. Discussing a show's future in another network simply means that CBS has no plans of renewing the series for Season 2.

The publication notes that "Limitless" received an average of 2.4 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic; however, it only received a 1.4 rating in its live-plus-same-day stats. The show's poor ratings may have prompted CBS to consider cancelling the show after just one season.

While it remains to be seen whether "Limitless" Season 2 would happen on CBS, Netflix or another network, executive producer Craig Sweeny previously told IGN that there are a lot of stories to tell in the upcoming season. According to Sweeny, Brian will be leaving the FBI in Season 2.

"Limitless" Season 2 is also expected to feature Brian and his colleagues going against other people with NZT. Sweeny teased that this will "open [things] up ... in a really interesting way."
