Next Motorola Flagship Phone: Company Teases Device With RAZR Throwback

Having a Motorola RAZR in 2006 means you are hip and in. The phone release was one of the well-received and well-loved handsets by Motorola fans.

The glory of the flip phone was re-lived in a teaser to the company's newest flagship, Mobile Syrup said. The advertisement showed the RAZR at its prime when almost all high school students were using it.

Phone Arena said many teenagers loved the keypad of the phone and its front camera which required a mirror before you can take a perfect selfie. Users also loved texting, making a call and opening web pages through mobile internet.

RAZR killed by iPhone

However, a year after it was released and became one of the hippest phones of its generation, iPhone released its first generation cellular phone which ended RAZR's dominance in the industry. Its popularity dropped tremendously.

Mobile Syrup said the video was Motorola's teaser for its event this coming June 9. It may also signal the plan of the company to revive the RAZR brand in its upcoming handsets.

TechnoBuffalo said the company is set to launch two new phones next month and will include the rumored Moto Z. This handset is said to be only 5.2 mm thin giving users a sleek and lightweight phone.

Modular design

In addition, Mobile Syrup said that this upcoming device will have a modular design and swappable backplates dubbed "Amps." Some accessories expected to be available along with the phone is a spare battery pack, camera grip with flash and zoom, a projector, and a wide-angle lens.

As for its camera, the Moto Z will reportedly sport a 16 MP rear shooter with a laser-aided autofocus. The other Z device, on the other hand, will have similar specifications and features but will have a lower 1080p display.
