Pregnancy News: How To Maintain A Healthy Pregnant Body

During pregnancy, expecting moms should always try to maintain a healthy body. This will help with childbirth and in avoiding health concerns while they are still pregnant.

Nutritionist Hannah Polites reminded pregnant women about this health priority in a People article. She claimed that many are still not sticking to a healthy diet while those who are conscious with what they eat are shamed by others.

"Unfortunately, it's become common for society to comment on the health of a person simply from their size being different to what they perceive to be normal," Polites added. "We aren't used to seeing strong pregnant women, but the reality is that it's more normal than not."

The 25-year-old mom to be has been known for posting fit pregnancy photos on her Instagram account. She has received mean comments on her sexy posts with her baby bump.

She added that many reacted negatively to her posts because they are misinformed of the right nutrition that a pregnant woman needs. "We aren't used to seeing strong pregnant women but the reality is that it's more normal than not," Polites explained.

Mother&Baby said that one of the important factors that expecting moms should watch out for is their weight. Being too fat or too skinny can have negative effects on the child you are carrying.

The same report advised conceiving women to lose weight when they are pregnant and maintain a fit body throughout the process. They are encouraged to have a BMI between 19 and 25.

On the other hand, KidsHealth said about 150 minutes of exercise weekly has been recommended by the US Department of Health and Human Services. Some exercises that a pregnant mom has been doing prior to her pregnancy can also be continued depending on the advise of the doctor.
