‘The Blacklist’ Season 4 Spoilers, News & Updates: Liz And Red’s Relationship ‘Will Be Strained;’ Ryan Eggold Dishes On Spinoff

"The Blacklist" Season 4 will see the events that took place following the surprising revelation that Megan Boone's Elizabeth Keen is still well and alive. Executive producer Jon Bokencamp shared some interesting details about the upcoming season of the NBC drama, including a potential strain to Liz and Red's relationship.

"The Blacklist" Season 4 will see Red (James Spader) track Liz (Megan Boone) following her sudden capture under the hands of Alexander Kirk. In an interview with showrunner Jon Bokenkamp, he told Deadline that fans will see Red do whatever it takes to save Liz from his enemy.

"The one person that Red cares about in this world is now missing and in the hands of his enemy," he said. "As for Red, rest assured, he will be on fire."

Aside from Red's attempts to save Liz in "The Blacklist" Season 4, the executive producer shared that Red and Liz's relationship will, once again, be put to the test. However, Bokenkamp revealed that this will ultimately highlight their relationship no matter what happens.

Bokenkamp also hinted that there will be more surprises in store in "The Blacklist" Season 4. Red and the entire team will have to deal with Liz's shocking revelation but there will be more twists in the upcoming season.

Ryan Eggold also told TVLine that his character, Tom Keen, will still appear in "The Blacklist" Season 4 despite his participation in the spinoff titled "The Blacklist: Redemption." According to the actor, his character will appear in the beginning episodes of the upcoming season to pave the way for the spinoff series.

"It will partly be to send us down the trajectory of this new series, and for the characters, we'll find out what happens between Tom and Liz and what happens with this baby girl they both share," said Eggold.
