Gorilla Named Harambe Killed To Save a Boy’s Life

A gorilla named Harambe was killed in order to save a little boy's life. This happened at the Cincinnati Zoo, where a little boy who was only four years old crawled into the habitat of the 400-pound gorilla.

According to the firsthand information posted on Womanista, the mother of the little boy was taking pictures, with the little boy's hand holding onto mommy's pockets. In just a few seconds, the boy's mother was surprised to find out her son is already inside the animal exhibit. Some onlookers tried to pull him back and was calling him.

The little boy, though, crawls fast enough before anybody else can stop him. The drop between the people's view deck and the gorilla habitat is 15 foot deep. His mother got frantic and one of the guys who are at the scene tried to jump into the enclosure but his wife stopped him.

They instead called 911 for rescue. According to the CBC report, the kid and the gorilla went to hold hands for a bit and the gorilla even touched his back. They both sat still in the water, however, because of the noise of the people around him, the gorilla got spooked so he grabbed the kid and brought him to the other side of the exhibit.

Fearing for the kid's life, the zoo's team for animal dangerous response decided to kill the 17-year-old gorilla and they did. The kid's name was not released, but he was later on taken to the Cincinnati Children's Medical Center to be treated. He is all getting better now.

As for the team who helped kill the gorilla, it was said that they made a tough but right choice. While some people are outraged to find out that the animal has been killed, tranquilizing the gorilla could leave the boy in danger. The important thing is the boy has been saved.
