Did 'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 Change Arya Stark's 'Mercy' Chapter From George R.R. Martin's 'The Winds Of Winter'?

"Game of Thrones" Season 6 Episode 6 may have been all about the return of Benjen Stark (and Daenerys Targaryen's beloved Drogon), but "Blood of my Blood" also spelled trouble for Arya Stark. After Arya Stark decided not to kill Lady Crane in "Game of Thrones" Season 6 Episode 6, Jaqen H'gar has ordered the Waif to kill the aspiring Girl with No Name. So does this mean that "Game of Thrones" Season 6 will rewrite George R.R. Martin's plans for Arya Stark in the "Mercy" sample chapter from "The Winds of Winter?"

Arya Stark Calls Herself "Mercy" In "Game Of Thrones" Season 6

In "Blood of my Blood," Arya Stark is ordered to poison Lady Crane during a play about the Lannisters (via ComicBook). After talking to Lady Crane, Arya Stark introduces herself as Mercy then decides to spill the poisoned rum and sneaks away to retrieve her sword Needle from its hiding place. The Waif reports to Jaqen H'gar about Arya Stark's insolence and is immediately ordered to kill Arya.

Arya Stark's "Game Of Thrones" Scene Vs The "Mercy" Chapter In "The Winds Of Winter"

In George R.R. Martin's sixth "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel, Arya Stark goes by the name "Mercy" and has joined the Mummers. In "The Winds of Winter," Mercy dreams of wolves and seduces Raff the Sweetling before returning back to a play where she portrays a young girl who gets raped by a dwarf. For more about George R.R. Martin's "Mercy" chapter from "The Winds of Winter," listen to the video below.

It looks like Arya Stark's scene in "Game of Thrones" Season 6 Episode 6 is a far cry from the "Mercy" chapter in "The Winds of Winter." However, there is still a possibility that "Game of Thrones" Season 6 will eventually follow what happens in "The Winds of Winter" sample chapter.

Will Arya Stark Defeat The Waif And Join The Mummers?

Although the promo for "Game of Thrones" Season 6 Episode 7 appears to focus on Jaime Lannister, Sansa Stark, Jon Snow and Theon Greyjoy, there is little doubt that Arya Stark will eventually try to find a way to go back to Westeros. Perhaps joining the Mummers after she defeats the Waif would be an excellent way to get back home.

Will Arya Stark finally return to Westeros? "Game of Thrones" Season 6 airs on HBO every Sunday nights.
