'Days of Our Lives' Cast, News & Update: Kate Mansi's Exit Confirmed, Last Episode Until The End Of The Month; Marci Miller Takes Over

NBC's "Days of Our Lives" is one of the favorite TV shows on weekdays. It has been running for decades and due to its longevity, fans have learned to love the characters. Unfortunately, cast come and go. Kate Mansi's departure in the show is imminent and a new actress is cast to play the role.

Kate Mansi Leaves 'Days of Our Lives'

Parent Herald previously reported that Kate Mansi is leaving "Days of Our Lives." The report started from rumors that one "DOOL" star is not planning to renew his or her contract. Many believed that it was pointing to Kate Mansi as her contract was about to expire last December 2015 and it seemed that it was the case.

Per Enstarz, Kate Mansi confirmed her departure in "Days of Our Lives" in a recent post, where she notified fans the countdown towards her last "DOOL" episode. "Tomorrow is June 1st which officially kicks off the countdown to my last episode on Days of Our Lives: June 24th," she wrote.

Kate Mansi Out, Marci Miller In For 'Days of Our Lives'

Kate Mansi's character, Abigail Deveraux is one of the favorites in "Days of Our Lives," that is why the production has no plans on killing the character along with Mansi's exit, so they recast Abigail. Recasting is not new to "DOOL" at all.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Marci Miller will replace Kate Mansi in "The Days of Our Lives." Miller has already begun taping for her debut but fans will have to wait for weeks to see the new Abigail because as Mansi announced she will still appear on the show until June 24.

Abigail Vanishes In 'Days of Our Lives'

As for the transition, it seemed that the production is already working on it. According to Inquisitr, Abigail's condition gets worse. She is harming herself and Chad is worried about her. Things went awry when Abigail vanishes from the psychiatric institution. Fans will see this in the next episode of "Days of Our Lives."

It is expected that when the character returns in "DOOL," Marci will be playing the new Abigail. There will be no more Kate Mansi by then.
