Thanks To Fatherhood, Simon Cowell Is Not Anymore The Bad-Tempered Reality Television Judge We Used To Know

Simon Cowell is a changed man now and fatherhood has a lot to do with it. The 56-year-old English television producer, who became a household name as the bad-tempered reality television judge for shows like "Britain's Got Talent," "America's Got Talent," "American Idol" and "The X Factor," revealed that he has softened his judging style after her girlfriend Lauren Silverman gave birth to their son Eric two years ago.

Fatherhood Softened The Bad-Tempered Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell shared to People that fatherhood has made him change the judging style that made him famous. From being a bad-tempered reality television judge, he revealed he is now more sensitive to TV show contestants, especially to kids.

"When you actually have a kid, it does make you feel different because you understand how you would feel if it was your son up there," Simon Cowell explained. The veteran reality television judge added that he is now more conscious about kids if they really love what they are doing and if they are having a great time on their audition.

Simon Cowell also clarified that reality TV shows like "The X Factor" and "American Idol" were edited to make him appear as a bad-tempered and miserable reality television judge all of the time. "Of course I am at times, but I'm not like that the whole day," Simon Cowell gamely revealed.

Simon Cowell Enjoys Fatherhood

Simon Cowell disclosed that he has been enjoying fatherhood. The famous reality television judge said that he finds his 2-year-old son Eric the funniest and cutest, and has been taking him to work most of the time.

It is not the first time that Simon Cowell talked about his fondness for his son. In an interview with Today last month, the reality television judge said that while he remained tough and uncompromising on TV, he has softened offstage because of his son. Simon Cowell also added that he has already started training his son to get acquainted with his work as he will be taking his father's company in the future.
